2022 has been an exciting year for Cube Controls: The Italian steering wheel manufacturer has not only launched brand-new wheels, but also cooperated with Mercedes-AMG to produce a limited-edition wheel – but that is not all, as the company promises a special announcement at ADAC SimRacing Expo 2022!
With the F-PRO and CSX-3, Cube Controls has released two high-end formula wheels which have been warmly received by SimRacers. “With the F-PRO and CSX-3, we have entered the next gen of steering wheels”, says Cube Controls’ Francesco Delrio. Remarkably, the CSX-3, which features up to 6 paddles for shifting and operating the clutch as well as an integrated LCD touchscreen display, has been developed in just a year and a half following the acquisition of their LCD supplier by a competitor.
Cube Controls has been hard at work in another area as well: The Italians have partnered with Mercedes-AMG to develop and build the steering wheel for the AMG GT Track Series car, limited to 55 vehicles, all featuring the Cube Controls wheel. “One of the wheels will be on display at our booth at the SimRacing Expo”, promises Delrio.

It was not just all about new wheels, however: Cube Controls had also set out to implement better features for their established wheels. “Our wish was to renovate the whole collection to provide speed lovers with a brand-new experience and a whole new sense of freedom”, Delrio explains. This was based on community feedback and led the manufacturer to add features like the magnetic connector Q-Conn and SimHub compatibility to their wheels. “We have treasured all the feedback and put extra effort into creating these new products”, Delrio states not without pride.
Cube Controls at ADAC SimRacing Expo 2022
After this exciting year, Cube Controls aims to close out 2022 at the ADAC SimRacing Expo in style. For one, they will show their upcoming formula wheel called F-CORE. Despite being an entry-level wheel, it will still have some features of its bigger brothers: Both a magnetic connection and an optional set of clutch paddles will be available for the F-CORE – all while “its price will be very competitive providing a premium entry-level wheel”, as Delrio promises.
On the other end of the spectrum, there is the AMG GT Track Series wheel. Cube Controls is going to be part of the “SimRacing – the Fastest Connection to Your Business” on-stage talk panel at 3pm on the Expo’s opening day and will talk about the process and challenges of creating the wheel, but there will be more to it as well. “The collaboration was also for another project”, states Delrio – and adds with a hint of secrecy: “A special announcement will be made at the Expo about it.”
