This weekend sees the beginning of the 2022 ADAC SimRacingExpo SimRacing.GP Professional Trophy, where some of the most well-known sim racing teams from across the globe will be going into battle for the first of five scheduled rounds, which will conclude at this year’s Expo in early December.
Circuit of The Americas hosts the opening round this coming Saturday, (July 23rd), with a revised team-style endurance format being employed as follows:
- Practice: 30 minutes
- Qualifying: 30 minutes
- Race: 6 Hours
In 2021, it was a solo-driver approach, with James Baldwin picking up the top prize at the Nürburgring at the in-person finale. But now this year sees every team, comprised of three drivers each, battling it out to secure points towards getting a share of a €9,750 prize fund.
The winning team will take home €2,000 at the SimRacingExpo itself in Nuremberg, with the remainder of the prize money being awarded to the top 20 teams overall.
Ten teams made it through the two qualifiers, which took place at Monza and Donington Park, which will add to the further exciting racing in prospect, joining 40 Pro teams to provide a fantastic grid!
So, you will all be able to see teams such as Burst Esport, Williams Esports, Unicorns of Love, GTWR, Veloce, YAS HEAT and many others race at the highest level via the dedicated live stream, which goes live at 1600 CEST, so don’t forget to tune in and show your support for your favourites!
