Multiple World Champions: Apex Racing Team unveils ESL R1 Line-up

With the world of sim racing Esports drivers being currently on the move, Apex Racing Team has decided to approach its line-up for the first ESL R1 Spring Season differently compared to the other teams that have announced their rosters so far: All four of their drivers have already been with ART instead of being brought in from elsewhere as the team is an established outfit in sim racing.

While teams like MOUZ, who enter the sim racing stage for the very first time, have brought in all-new drivers, Apex trusts proven hands of drivers who have been with them in their iRacing forays. As a result, their ESL R1 quartet should feel right at home working with the team.

Peter Berryman has been competing for Apex since 2015 in various events like the iRacing World Championship Grand Prix Series, taking the title in 2021, or the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge, where the Briton finished as the runner-up in 2020.

Meanwhile, Yohann Harth joined the team in 2019 and, like Berryman, has a top-level iRacing title among his accolades – albeit on mixed surfaces rather than tarmac: The Frenchman secured the 2020 iRacing Rallycross World Championship with Apex and is now aiming to make his mark in ESL R1 with the squad.

In Kevin Ellis Jr, another championship-caliber driver will be part of the team, as he is coming off of a 2022 in which he managed to claim the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB title. The Scotsman has also competed in the iRacing World Championship Grand Prix Series for Apex with a best finish of sixth overall in 2018.

Completing the ART line-up is Briton Jamie Fluke – another long-time driver for the team. Fluke has been with Apex since 2015, competing in the iRacing World Championship Grand Prix Series and, among others, the Porsche Esports Supercup, where he managed a best finish of sixth overall in 2019.

For the Spring Season, Apex Racing Team is going to field an Audi R8 LMS Evo II for each of its drivers on the brand-new RENNSPORT platform.
