Lightning has definitely struck twice in the world of sim racing, as just one week after the Le Mans 24H Virtual being classed as a ‘clown show” by two-time F1 champion Max Verstappen, the coals on the proverbial fire roared back into life just after the iRacing Daytona 24 powered by VCO.
It all stems from the iRacing Sporting Code for the event, ehich had clearly dictated that the apron at the Daytona International Speedway could not be used during both qualifying and the race itself. With the actions of top teams throughout the race under big scrutiny once again, social media had another divide thrown across the platforms when it came to opinions.
But it was not just one party that had decided to do so, and there is also the big question of how iRacing would react to rectify items such as this moving forward.
SRU Editors Alex Goldschmidt and Yannik Haustein again get their thinking caps on and delve a bit deeper into this debacle.
