URD goes Radical: Free Prototype Mod for AC Released

United Racing Design has done it again: The modding studio has teamed up with another manufacturer to create a licensed vehicle with input from the real world, this time with British sports car enthusiasts Radical for their brand-new SR3 XXR for Assetto Corsa.

The little sports prototype has seen considerable updates for the 2023 season, including revisions to its engine and a new lightweight wheels. While the real-world car comes with the option of a 1340cc or a 1500cc engine, the digital version boasts the latter, with a power-to-weight ratio of 350bhp per tonne.

This means the car should be quick and agile, making for a fun racing experience. The real-world SR3 has been sold over 1500 times and is raced in no less than 12 Radical Cup championships around the globe. Now, sim racers can experience the car for themselves – it is free to anyone in the URD shop.

The SR3 XXR is not the first vehicle that URD has completed as an officially licensed version with manufacturer input: In 2022, the Scuderia Glickenhaus SCG 007 Le Mans Hypercar was released for both AC and rFactor 2 after working with SCG to ensure an experience that is as close to the real car as possible. The SCG 007 is also available in the shop, although as paid content.
