The next addition is coming: With the Challengers Pack DLC set to release on March 23rd, Assetto Corsa Competizione is going to get a new GT3 car – the Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II will hit the virtual track once the pack arrives.
This means that the rumor mill was right in two instances now: Both the Audi and the already announced BMW M2 CS Racing had been speculated to be part of the upcoming DLC before their respective confirmation. Should this accuracy stay moving forward, ACC fans can look forward to the Ferrari 488 Challenge, the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup and the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2 as well.
Meanwhile, the newest version of the R8 brings numerous improvements to the table compared to its predecessor: The Evo model in use thus far had been in action since late 2018 and is now being replaced by a car with a different philosophy in aerodynamics – the focus now lies more on the rear wing instead of the floor to generate downforce – as well as improved dampers and a traction control that features more adjustability.
With the R8, ACC now features two new cars for the 2022 season: The BMW M4 GT3 had already been added in late 2021 ahead of its real-life racing debut in early 2022.
