Cube Controls Builds Wheel for New Mercedes-AMG Car

SimRacing in an actual cockpit: Cube Controls joins the short list of SimRacing manufacturers that are represented in a real car – the Italians have developed the steering wheel for the new Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series. The vehicle for club events and track days profits from experience gained in virtual motorsports.

Optically, the wheel in the cockpit of the GT Track Series is a cross between the Formula line of Cube Controls wheels and the volant found in the GT3 race car – similarities with both wheel are apparent. It features shifter paddles on the back as well as 14 buttons on the front.

No word is out yet on if the wheel is going to be available for SimRacing rigs as well – it would be a logical step, however. This would make Cube Controls follow the path that Fanatec went on when the Landshut-based company developed the wheel for the new M4 GT3 in cooperation with BMW, which can be used in the race car as well as on Fanatec wheel bases in simulators.
