F1 22: EA Tests Crossplay

Time to grab your friends, fire up F1 22 and have a good time – regardless of their platform: Crossplay had been announced as a feature in the game that was yet to come, and EA Sports and Codemasters are testing it in two sessions: From August 5th to 7th as well as August 12th to 14th, players will be able to test the feature.

Different platforms are still a big hurdle for online gaming, with SimRacing being far from the exception. F1 22 attempts to clear this hurdle with its crossplay feature that allows players to race together no matter if they are on PC, PlayStation 4 or 5, or Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S.

Crossplay is available in Social Play and Two Player Career for racers to enjoy. To enable it, they simply have to activate the setting in the Game Options menu. Invites to game sessions are handled through the in-game Friends Hub.

Here are the crossplay test phase dates at a glance for you:

  • Friday, August 5th, 1pm CEST – Monday, August 8th, 12am CEST
  • Friday, August 12th, 1pm CEST – Monday, August 15th, 12am CEST

Both end dates mean as soon as the clock strikes midnight in the night from Sunday to Monday, the test phase ends.
