F1 22: October Update Adds Current F2 Season

The real title race may be decided, but that does not mean that F1 22 is not getting any more updates – quite the contrary: On October 11th, the official Formula 1 game is set to receive not only new liveries and a new icon of the sport to use in My Team mode, but much more long-awaited content as well.

Just in time for the United States Grand Prix, players of F1 22 will receive stars-and-stripes themed helmets, gloves and race suits for free via the in-game mail system. Another free livery is thrown in as well – McLaren’s Future Mode design is available to all players for a limited time for now, but will be back to choose permanently in December, as an EA press release states. The Griddy podium celebration is also part of the update.

Of more interest to the players should be the two major additions of the October update. The Flying Finn is going to be part of My Team mode – none other than Mika Häkkinen will be available as an icon driver. The 1998 and 1999 world champion comes to the game for Champions Edition players.

The major addition many F1 fans have been waiting for, meanwhile, is the 2022 Formula 2 season – including sprint races. As a result, players will be able to race in the current season of the main F1 feeder series, which is set to end on November 10th at Abu Dhabi. This means drivers like champion Felipe Drugovich or the up-and-coming American Logan Sargeant will be in the game with the new update – the latter is set to make his F1 debut in the first free practice session of the upcoming US GP.
