RaceRoom’s big track roster is set to grow yet again: After introducing Interlagos and multiple other circuits earlier in 2022, another classic is coming as the sim’s official Twitter account teased – SimRacers can look forward to the British classic of Donington Park.
Two images posted by RaceRoom leave no room for doubt when it comes to identifying the upcoming track – the airplane approaching the nearby airport coupled with the circuit’s logo on a brake marker board make it clear that it is the track that was the scene for one of Ayrton Senna’s most memorable drives in 1993: The Brazilian was at least one class ahead of everybody at a rain-soaked European Grand Prix – the only F1 world championship race held at the track in Leicestershire.

With history spanning back to 1931, Donington has been a staple in the British racing landscape since its revival in 1971 after being closed at the onset of World War II in 1939. Since then, the circuit has seen the addition of the Melbourne Hairpin loop in 1985, with the short layout still being used today in Touring Car races, among others.
Junior Formulae and GT series, especially national events, are regular visitors to the flowing track. RaceRoom’s vehicle content should fit the track nicely as a result. It is not yet known when the track will be available, but RaceRoom usually does not take much time between the first teasers and the release, if earlier circuit releases are any indication.
