Formula 1 fans are going to have a must-visit destination for their next London trip soon: Right across the street from St. Paul’s Cathedral, the F1 Arcade is set to open its doors on November 22nd, featuring high-end SimRacing equipment and the promise of “a thrilling new entertainment experience” – and this should only be the beginning.
The project aims to redefine the arcade, offering a premium environment including food and drink. The most interesting part to SimRacers has to be the simulators, of course: Up to 60 Vesaro rigs will be available at the new location, equipped with Moza wheels and wheel bases as well as Heusinkveld pedals.
Interestingly, F1 Arcade is not going to make use of the official game of the World Championship, opting to work with Motorsport Games to create a bespoke software based on rFactor 2 instead of F1 22. Guests will be able to choose from multiple modes and scenarios to race in and against each other to ensure that SimRacers of all skill levels can have fun at the venue. Enhanced experiences during Grand Prix weekends are also planned, though no further details about this are known yet.
However, London is not going to be the only location to offer this experience to F1 fans: A total of 30 F1 Arcade venues are planned to open in the next five years. “When people come to one of our venues, we have to wow them, and this new concept is going to take people’s breath away”, says Adam Breeden, founder and CEO of Kindred Concepts, the creators of F1 Arcade. “We are going to break barriers in competitive socializing, marrying cutting-edge technlogy, a premium F&B offering, and a visually stimulating setting with the unrivalled glamour and excitement of F1, to create an unforgettable, adrenaline-fueled experience.”
