The VCO ERedline Dominate VCO Summer Cup MastersRL Summer Cup Masters headed back to the rFactor 2 platform, as more touring car action was in clear abundance, thanks to the return of the Toyota Corolla GR BTCC car, which saw Sebring International Raceway and the Johnson Club layout being used.
After a drama and action-filled evening of tin-top racing, it was an unstoppable Team Redline that emerged as the eventual Summer Cup champions, with the trio of Kevin Siggy, Enzo Bonito and Jeffrey Rietveld comfortably winning two out of the three races in the Final, ahead of R8G Esports, with the combination of Erhan Jajovski, Marcel Csincsik and Jiri Toman unable to break their stranglehold on the competition.
The biggest surprise that nearly caused a big upset was that of TRITON Racing, who despite only having two drivers in the form of Dominik Blajer and Jakub Charkot, managed to fight their way back through the Second Chance Heat to the Semi Finals.
They would firstly get through the battle with the Apex Racing Team trio of Jamie Fluke, Yohann Harth and Valero Gaël in the Quarter Finals, before coming up second best to R8G in their final race.
BS+ Competition would also make it to the Semi Finals, thanks to the efforts of Alen Terzic, Joonas Raivio and Ibraheem Kahn, but would lose to eventual winners Redline.
With a total of 12 seeded teams that qualified for the Summer Cup, there were also some other big names that would fall by the wayside in the Quarter Finals, including Spring Cup Champions Unicorns of Love, Williams Esports and Team Fordzilla, with the latter also qualifying through the Second Chance heat.
With the dust having settled at Sebring, the next order of business is the forthcoming VCO ERL Fall Cup, where iRacing will be the focus, with the dates yet to be set in stone.
