Following on from the five-round adventure on Assetto Corsa Competizione back in 2021, The Sim Grid X VCO World Cup makes a welcome return to the sim racing world, but there is even more at stake this time for this one-off event just before Christmas and the New Year.
A total of 49 teams with some of the very best from around the globe will head to the challenge and technical Kyalami Grand Prix circuit in South Africa on December 16th and 17th, for a one-off adventure that will also bring with it a total prize fund of $10,000 dollars that will be split between the top 20 finishers.
Even with the majority of the teams being invited to the competition, including the likes of Williams Esports, Unicorns of Love, Veloce and Team Redline, three of the biggest communities involved with Sim Grid will also see Symphony of Pistons (SOP) , Quantum Racing (QRT) and Formula Racing League (FRT) involved.
FRL, however, have decided to host the “Road to the World Cup” on November 27th, with an eight-hour race at Mount Panorama, which will see GT3 teams comprising of two to four drivers compete for one of three places on what is set to be a mammoth grid by finishing in the top three.
Those thinking that they can compete with the very best, you can fill in the World Cup application form here.
