Mark April 18th in your calendars – the first Venym Cup is coming in iRacing: With a hotlap pre-qualifying, 80 drivers will qualify for the finals day on April 30th. The prize offered by the French manufacturer is spectacular: The fastest SimRacers can win either a Venym Atrax 2 pedal set – or a two-hour driving session in a Formula 4 car at Magny-Cours!
As part of the race car manufacturer Mygale, Venym has their headquarters right next to the track that played host to the French Grand Prix 18 times from 1991 to 2008. Mygale’s know-how plays an important part in Venym’s pedals – and opens the door for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for virtual drivers. Registration is now open on the Venym website.
The first pre-qualifying is scheduled for April 18th from 7pm to 10pm CEST, using the recently released IR-04 F4 car including a fixed setup. The track on which the qualification process is going to be held will be revealed on April 15th. Here is the complete qualifying schedule:
- Monday, April 18th: 7-10pm CEST
- Wednesday, April 20th: 7-10pm CEST
- Saturday, April 23rd: 4-7pm CEST
- Sunday, April 24th: 4-7pm CEST
The fastest 80 drivers will qualify for the quarter final, which is going to be held on April 30th, just like the semi-final and the final. Who gets the drive in the F4 car depends on the overall winner – they get to choose between the pedal set and the session in Magny-Cours, with the runner-up receiving the remaining prize.
The Venym Atrax pedals have been unveiled last summer. SimRacing Unlimited has already taken a closer look and written about first impressions and a review.
