Already on July 16, the new "Formula 1 2021" will be released for consoles and PC. This time the game was developed by Codemasters again, but after the takeover by Electronic Arts, there will be an additional logo on the game packaging and in the intro of the game.
Game director Lee Mather has now spoken out about what resolutions will be supported on the PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
With 120 fps on XSX and PS5
According to him, it is incredibly important for a racing game like Formula 1 2021 that the frenzy is displayed at a minimum of 60 frames per second. On the new consoles, however, it was possible to turn this screw even further: Thus, up to 120 frames per second are possible on the PS5 and Xbox Series X in Performance Mode - at a resolution of 1440p. If your TV or monitor is not capable of displaying this high frame rate, there is still a mode with 60 frames - here, the gameplay is then output with a dynamic 4K resolution (2160p). On the PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S, there is only one option to choose from: Then the game runs in 1080p with 60 frames per second, as was the case with the previous games in the series.
F1 2021 will be released on July 16th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC. There is currently no word on the release of a version for the Nintendo Switch,
