In Forza Horizon 5 you'll race through the breathtakingly beautiful Mexico in hundreds of the fastest and most interesting cars in the world, experiencing a country full of contrasts and exciting landscapes. Here you'll be able to discover vibrant deserts, lush jungles, historic cities, hidden ruins, pristine beaches, huge canyons and a towering, snow-covered volcano. Incidentally, according to the developers, the highest point that can ever be navigated in a Horizon game.

Experience real storms

The extensive campaign once again features many of the challenges and activities that have made the racing game series so popular. In the course of the game, you'll meet many new characters and determine the course of the Horizon story missions. During the nerve-racking races, you'll have to deal with breathtaking weather events such as massive dust storms and intense tropical storms. That's because Mexico's unique, dynamic seasons change the game world differently every week. No two seasons should feel the same.

Of course, you can once again team up with numerous other players to experience and complete a series of fun, over-the-top challenges together in "Horizon Arcade" mode.

Still with LOD issues

In Forza Horizon 5, the developers were able to use particularly powerful new graphical features of the latest generation for the first time. Thanks to the new hardware, you'll experience sweeping vistas and scan the horizon to see what adventure might lie ahead. There is a great deal of detail in the world, which the developers were able to render with a high level of realism - down to the smallest details such as rays of light shining through each needle of a cholla cactus. What the SimRacing editorial team still finds slightly unpleasant, however, is the annoying LoD pop-in, which is again very evident in the trailer we've included for you below the article.

For the correct representation of the sky, the developers from Playground Games came up with something very special: Real Mexican HDR sky shots were taken to illuminate the world as naturally as possible.

The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE (pictured above) can be seen in the demo. The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE reaches a top speed of over 350 km/h and transfers Formula 1's latest and most efficient hybrid technology almost one-to-one from the race track to the road for the first time.

Forza Horizon 5 will be released on 09.11.21 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
